The Jane Street overbridge upgrade contained an ambitious design of a 35m single span bridge to carry twin rail lines constructed over live traffic in the heart of Penrith NSW. Site constraints necessitated the components to be precast off site, assembled adjacent to the existing bridge and the completed structure weighing over 2500 tonnes transported and lifted into place during a 6 day rail shutdown. EPS were engaged to supply highly complex, bespoke precast components to extremely tight tolerances which included 2 off 180t Post tensioned beams – the largest beams every manufactured off site and delivered at that time in Australia. All items were complete, delivered and assembled to meet exacting tolerances and time frames.
