Western Sydney Data Centre 1 is the largest of six data centres completed for AW Edwards, as well as Evolution Precast’s largest project to date across all its specialist sectors. The 20,000-square-meter facility will provide a secure space for large national and international enterprises to house critical IT equipment and storage. The new four-storey building was built in a record time, features heavily reinforced concrete elements, and incorporates both standard grey and architectural black panels.

In addition to its standard vertical precast concrete elements, Evolution Precast supplied time- and cost-effective flooring beams, allowing for even faster construction. On this project, we were able to demonstrate our seamless integration of planning, production, transportation, installation, and post-installation teams, providing this recurring client with the highest quality service they had chosen us for.

This project involved Evolution Precast’s first full redesign from in-situ to precast, thereby increasing safety during the COVID-19 pandemic by requiring fewer people on-site.
